Concord, NC - Zelma Mae Cochran, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on August 27, 1934, in Lenore, Kansas, Zelma was the cherished daughter of Rayfield and Alice Long.


Zelma married the love of her life, Walter Grant Cochran, on June 5, 1954 in Bedford, Iowa. Soon after, they moved to Evergreen, Colorado where they built a life filled with laughter and love, raising two children. Zelma was a hardworking homemaker and office manager for her husband's plumbing business. They moved to Loveland, Colorado after retirement.


Zelma was preceded in death by her beloved husband Walt, and her son, Allen. She is survived by her daughter Becky McElrath (Ron) of Concord, NC, Daughter-in-law Cheryl Cochran of Jacksonville, FL, along with five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren
