Centennial, CO - Louisa Huerta Flores, age 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, in Lone Tree, Colorado.

Louisa was preceded in death by her parents, Gregorio A. and Natalia Lujan Huerta; her sisters, Modesta, Bessie, Cora, Rita, and Mary; and her brothers, Julian, Johnny, Nash, and Gregorio Jr., who died at birth. Her brother, Jerry Huerta, is the last remaining sibling.

Louisa is lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, Ephraim Flores; daughters Aleashea Bess and Soni Fox; son-in-law Graham Fox; grandchildren Rachel, Grayson, and Jordan; and her beloved dog, Buttons.

Born on January 24, 1941, in Berthoud, Colorado, Louisa married the love of her life, Ephraim Flores, on July 3, 1965, in Montebello, California. Together they shared 60 beautiful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and devotion.

Before marriage, Louisa worked as a lifeguard. After marrying Ephraim, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to being a loving wife and full-time mother. In later years, while continuing to care deeply for her family, she also worked for the Littleton Public School District and operated her own house-cleaning business.

Louisa had a gift for collecting many things, but what she treasured most were the hearts of family, friends, and even strangers. A dedicated Christian, she found peace and joy in nature, especially at her cabin in Jefferson, Colorado. She loved sparrows, flowers, particularly purple irises, and growing her own fruits and vegetables.

An excellent chef and gracious hostess, Louisa was known for sharing her Mexican cuisine, always accompanied by her love of hot sauce. In true Louisa fashion, meals were rarely spicy enough, and she often carried a bag of jalapeños in her purse whenever she went out to eat, ready to add a little extra heat to any meal. She also had a quiet, unforgettable sense of humor. Whether through her famously funny Pictionary drawings, the expressions she made after getting caught in the candy jar, or her playful commentary about Ephraim's minor faults, she had a way of making everyone laugh.

Above all else, Louisa treasured her family. "Family is the most important thing," she would often say. Christmas held a special place in her heart, and each year she transformed her home into a winter wonderland, filled with beautiful decorations admired by family and friends alike.

Louisa's warmth, faith, humor, and deep love for those around her will be remembered always.
