Fort Collins, CO - Joan (Fleenor) Facchinello, 91, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 28, 2025, in Fort Collins. She was surrounded by her family.
Joan's parents were Paul T. Fleenor and Emily (Symons) Fleenor. Born January 15,1934 in Evanston, Illinois, her family moved to Colorado during her middle school years. She graduated from Englewood High School in 1951.
Joan married Ray Facchinello, March 30,1951. They were married 64 years. Joan and Ray had three children, Paula (Dave) Edwards, Rick (Shannon) Facchinello, and Jami Facchinello.
Joan worked for Littleton Public Schools for 32 years. After retiring, she worked in guest relations for the Colorado Rockies for 23 years, and the Denver Broncos for 8 years. She was active in community organizations including Red Hat Society, Littleton Optimists, and Western Welcome. Joan was the Western Welcome Grand Marshal in 2013 and was honored with The Houstoun Waring Life-time Achievement award. She was a woman of hard work, strong will, and high expectations.
Joan is survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as her sister Paulette Turner, and her brother, Jim Fleenor. In addition, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray, and sister, Patricia Deneke.
A celebration of life with a reception to follow will be held at the Inn at Hudson Gardens & Event Center, 6115 South Santa Fe Drive, Littleton, Colorado 80120 on Monday, January 19, 2026, 10:00 am.
