Donna Marie Carrillo Obituary
Fort Lupton, Colorado - Donna Carrillo, of Fort Lupton, Colorado, passed away on May 25, 2026.
Donna was a fiercely independent woman who lived life unapologetically her own way. She was uniquely herself in every sense of the word, strong-willed, honest, funny, and unforgettable. Those who knew her best knew that she followed her own path, and she left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Donna possessed one of the biggest hearts imaginable. She was often the person family and friends turned to in times of trouble, not because she had all the answers, but because she offered understanding without judgment. She made people feel safe, loved, and accepted.
Donna found happiness in life's simple treasures: tending to her flower gardens, spending time with her beloved dogs, collecting meaningful keepsakes, and saving cards and letters from those she loved. She especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and countless reasons to smile. She valued laughter, family, friendship, and the small moments that often mean the most.
Known for her quick wit and infectious smile, Donna had a gift for making people laugh, even on their hardest days. Her life was filled with stories that her family and friends will continue to share for years to come—stories that capture her humor, her adventurous spirit, and the joy she brought to those around her.
Like all of us, Donna faced struggles throughout her life. Yet through every challenge, her loving heart remained constant. Her family takes comfort in knowing that her journey was part of God's greater plan and that she has now found the peace and rest she so deeply deserves.
Donna is survived by her children, Brad Carrillo (Jessica), Kyla Davis (Charlie), and Denae Jacobo (Rigo); her ten cherished grandchildren; her sister, Dana Hernandez(Troy); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Souther; her mother, Virginia Bainbridge; and her brother, Jim Souther.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Crossroads Community Center, 10451 Huron Street, Northglenn, Colorado 80234, on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. There will be a luncheon following the service.
Though she is no longer with us in body, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. She will be remembered for her laughter, her generosity, her resilience, and the love she shared so freely. Like sunshine breaking through gray skies, her light will continue to shine in the lives of those she leaves behind.
"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray."
The family finds comfort in knowing that Donna's earthly struggles are behind her and that she now rests in God's eternal peace.
